I called staples and they said they would get back to me once they contact vendor. This is their response:

Plan b worked well, 10% with buds, no activation no trade-in. I liked that Yorkdale Samsung resisted letting me go in line 40 min before my reservation time! Well restricted & organized. Also that they had all the 4 colors of buds available to select, even at late afternoon.
I will cancel Staples order first thing tomorrow.

When and at which store did you get refused on the cracked screen S8? (was it before or after the 23rd?) Thanks.

guys call them, if you didn't get a call from them,they cancelled my order so i had to place another one lol...

I placed my order on the 22nd for the black with buds promo and 10%.
My order is currently in processing with
A ship date of sept 3 to 6th.
I just checked on there site and the current ship date for the black is Aug26th...
How does this make sense?? Lol
Need to make a phone call in the morning...
