From the Sengled Web site:

"Do I need a hub to control the Smart LED line of bulbs?
Yes. The Smart LED line of bulbs do require a hub. "
Not all Sentled bulbs require a hub - only the Zwave ones do. Looks like these work with bit Zwave and Wi-Fi.

“Sengled Smart Wi-Fi LED bulbs are the easiest way to get started with smart lighting. No hub required - just connect the bulb to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network to dim, brighten and schedule your lights. Create a warm ambiance with natural, 2700K soft white light. Certified to work with Amazon Alexa and Echo Plus, Google Assistant, Samsung SmartThings and Wink.”

At $5 each, I'm wondering what's the catch?
That's Dollarama territory.
Seems very cheap yet you can even change the color temperature which is more than the Bright ones from The Source that I bought.

Since when shipping is Free with no minimum at staples?
I didn't get the memo.
Didn't it used to be $35 minimum?

Prepare to be disappointed then. It’s a fixed 2700k bulb.

Thanks. I haven't ordered yet. You own some?
Is the color rendering normal or weird?
I've seen bulbs that give a greenish tint to everything.
2700k happens to be my favorite color temperature though.

It’s normal. I have a few of these plus other Sengled ones.

Easily worth $5 each! I ordered 4 more for the kitchen island lights.

i saw the description on staples website, it's 100% wrong. It says on the box it's fixed at 2700k, and speaking as someone who has a few of these bulbs, it's 2700k. You'd have to go for the colour changing ones that are $10 if you want to adjust the temperature.

edit: saw someone that already replied to you...but to answer your other question on the tint, the bulbs look like regular bulbs, no tint..i have 2, my mom has 4 and no problems with any of them

Bought two of these today and spent 2 hrs trying to add to network with no luck, no issues with any other smart devices at home. Some quick looking into Sengled spews a lot of negative reviews online recently with company issues servers going down etc, beware these will be going back, $4.99 4-A-Reason

Grabbed 5 of these this morning. Had zero issues with connecting them. Even with a band steering network (same ssid for bands 2.4/5). Only issue is that they say white, but a tinge on the yellow side. If they were a cool white, would have outfitted the rest of the house with them at $5.

That’s because they’re 2700K…

Thanks OP - Picked up 4...works perfect in my previously non-dimmable Kitchen fan!
