Bought one today at the Beacon Hill location in Calgary and am sitting on it now. Nice chair with good lower back support and it looks pretty cool.
The head rest is really nice as well. Don't forget the $10 off coupon that you retrieve from your mobile phone by simply navigating to staples.ca and clicking the link and showing your phone to the cashier.

Thanks for the pics, looks very nice... second guessing my order for the black one now lol. We'll see if the staples by me has a grey (or silver as listed on the box) available for exchange when I receive my shipment.

Another slight issue is that the mesh shreds my pants, but I only wear pajamas or jeans on it now, so not too big a deal. Definitely resolvable with the gel seat, but I'm fine with the mesh as it is.

Lost a pair of fleece joggers to pilling though. :/
Greasing it might help. It might be catching metal on metal.

Does the headrest only lower and raises in two configuration? I raised to the middle but keep falling down

Bought the hyken on the 15th and received it today, put it together and went to ikea to try out the markus. Needless to say i ended up buying the markus and returned the hyken lol. The markus is way more comfortable hands down.

If you buy in store they’ll try to pitch you the replacement plan, I’d advise if anything goes wrong with the chair you get all the money back on a gift card and it’s over the phone so they’ll tell you to just throw out the chair but you don’t have to. It covers literally anything wrong with it including wear and tear

I am actually replacing my Markus with Hyken, Markus is great but it doesn't have adjustable armrests and it gives me shoulder pain after long time use. But probably it is just my own problem...

Anyone know if the Staples Hardwood wheels will fit Ikea markus chair?

People say you can not install the arm rests on the Markus and I'm starting to like that idea... It is definitely more comfortable if you're a taller person

How tall are you folks? I'm 6'2" and love my no-headrest Hyken. I hated the Markus for all the reasons discussed in post #2, but I feel like this is an intensely personal and subjective decision.

I just got the chair installed. According to the user manual, "Armrest pad can slide forward or backward as well as rotate in or out". How do you actually do that? I can adjust the armrest up and down, but I am not exactly sure how to adjust it forward/backward and rotate in/out.
