So, is it worth buying the extended warranty if we already get the limited 7 years? Reading through this thread some are opting for it and some aren't. In this thread, some are saying if the chair is defective within the 7 years you can phone the warranty centre and they'll send you a gift card of the amount of the chair?

Am I reading that right? Makes it an easier buy for me if that's the case.
I'm generally of the opinion that if buying extended warranties was an overall benefit for the customer, then nobody would sell extended warranties.

IMO, no. Like most extended warranties, it's usually a waste of money. In this case with a 7 year warranty it makes even less sense than on a typical much shorter warranty.

One person said that. The poster's profile shows that this is their first and only post.

In my experience with another Staples chair, they sent me the replacement part, not a GC for the entire amount. In any case, they seem to honour their warranty, so I don't see the point of the extended warranty.

If it was a 1 year warranty standard then yes an extended for an extra 3-5 would be great, but it already has 7 years and the chair is a cheap $140-150 so that's good enough.

Gel seat cushion complete solves this problem for me. I had the same issue without the seat cushion.

Gentlemen, Canadian Tire has two gel seat cushions on sale when you go in store.

032-0124-0/901 (from post #2) @ $16.99

032-0148-4 @ $14.99 (Down from $44.99)

The second one is identical to the black gel seat cushions we've traditionally used, but grey instead. Grey seems all the rage now, so I thought you might like that.

Was debating about the hyken, but ended up with staples berwood chair for $129, $100 off. Bought two of them + had a $35 off over $250 so got them for $254 all in.

I bought the warranty and ended up going back to return the warranty (I live two mins from a store). I figured the 7 yr warranty (although probably limited) and the fact that the chair cost me less than $150 is sufficient enough for me skip it. I probably won’t be using it as much as most ppl anyways so I hopefully won’t run into issues until the later years.

Some thoughts on this chair after sitting in it for about 8 hours. Sitting on this without a cushion doesn't feel comfortable to me at all.

I bought this today @ $19.99:

https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/auto ... 0124p.html

as it was one of the recommended cushions. I'm disappointed in it so far. It fixed the uncomfortable feeling of sitting on mesh but the cushion just doesn't feel right either, I'm on the slimmer side so maybe not enough weight is being pressed down on the cushion? Not a big fan of it, I might give the other flat gel cushion a try after tomorrow.

The cushion elevated me up on the chair so I'll have to either remove the headrest or apply the mod. I don't really use the headrests on my chair so I may just end up removing it altogether.

What I do like about this chair is that with the cushion on the chair I find myself sitting with a better posture and I don't find myself slouching at all anymore. However, I can't sit with my legs crossed anymore but it's a good tradeoff for better posture.

Would anyone mind pming their order number to me if they used the 15% off? I spoke to customer service today and they said the 15% discount was only in store and if I provided an order number that showed it was possible, they would honour the discount.

Thanks in advance!
