Precious chair, I'm rocking it right now.

Tips and Tricks

Head Rest Mod
Advisable for folks between 5'10" and 6'2", any taller and you're best recommended not to install the head rest.

Gel Seat Cushion - [Option 1]
The seat cushion is very useful for (1) long-term comfortable seating and (2) distributing your weight so the mesh doesn't sag. Do not use the Option 1 seat cushion for your vehicle, it's known to get cold outside in winter.

A task chair designed for productive functional comfort.

1) Breezy and cool mesh keeps your bottom cool, and allows for easy air release.
2) The chair encourages upright posture.
2A) It's helped relieve mild back pain.
3) The head rest is good for folks up to 6'2" with the head rest mod, otherwise you can skip the install.
4) The gel seat cushion option improves seat comfort and distributes weight to avoid sagging.
5) Anecdotal: It's deployed across a few offices here with great success, using the gel seat cushion.

You're hearing some marginal complaints from two camps:
1) Folks who prefer luxurious comfort over practical and productive comfort.
2) Folks who don't know that the gel seat cushion is a thing.

If you fall into camp 2, a good gel cushion makes a big difference. If you're still not satisfied, you fall into camp 1.

I will never touch a $1,000 luxurious leather work chair again.

Do you put the gel cushion on top or fit it under the mesh?

Great chair! Switched from pleather to this and very happy with the sizing, ergo, and mesh cooling factor.

Been rocking this chair for two years now. I work from home half the time and this is my goto for firm, yet comfortable seating. It does wonders for compressed achy sciatica. I’m 6’4”, love the headrest.

I only got mine recently, but I think I'll get another at this price.
I'm 6'2" and I am using the default head rest install with no issues. I'm long in the legs and shorter in the torso. Also, I'm about 170 lbs.
No gel seat cushion needed either, but good advice for those than want one.

I'm 6'4" and I've sat on a few of these. The head rest hits me in the back, but you can just not install it. Reasonably good, not as good as a high end office chair but good enough for home use provided you don't work from home, I don't know why you'd add a gel pad to a mesh chair, kinda defeats the purpose and also adds a bunch of cost, maybe it makes sense if you're heavy? I can't really say.

Deal at $150, definitely one of the better Staples chairs

I have a couple of these at my office and like them. Big upgrade from what we were using before.

Definitely worth trying at this price point

Has anyone tried re-tightening the seat mesh by removing the staples, pulling it in and adding new staples ??
I have a sagging mesh and wondering whats the best way forward ... like the mesh and not a big fan of the gel cushion ...

Use code 66367 for another $15 off when spending $150.
You need a filler item.

One more thing to add, swapping out the default castors to the silent flooring ones is definitely worth it. Silent when rolling on my laminate flooring now.

Went to Staples at lunch to try this chair. It's comfy, but the headrest digs into my shoulders (I'm 6 foot 2). I've heard about the headrest mod, but it apparently only adds an extra inch to the headrest (I figure I'd need 4-5 inches). Any way to increase the height of the headrest more than an inch?
