Statement of Adjustments for First Time Home buyer

First time Home buyer and I didn't get some Lawyer charges.

As a resident, do I have to pay 'Non-Resident tax?
I didn't understand two chargers for 'Law Office Professional Corporation' and 'Professional Corporation'?

I am not aware how much would be the charges, but I felt they are charging me a lot more than usual.

TIA.

$1000 legal fees & $351.25 disbursements paid to the law office which is named ".... Professional corp" you are not being overcharged on those .. not sure about all the other smaller fees though.

I would question the non resident tax fee, the file retention fee is simply a bs as well, but if you don't have a written quote prior to hiring them you are probably out of luck.

For your future, and anyone who is reading it, prior to hiring the lawyer for your real estate transaction ask for "all in quote" in writing.

Did you purchase the property from a non-resident. If so your lawyer may have had to determine if you were required to withhold 25% non-resident tax from your purchase price.
