EDIT: Sorry - didn't realize there was a Steam Summer Sale thread here: steam-summer-sale-june-21-july-5-2202452/
The deal might better belong in that thread, though CIV has not been mentioned there yet.

I'm seeing 75% for Civ 5 after login but only 60% of for Civ 6, is there something I'm missing?

Hmm, not sure. I see 70% off for CIV 6 (23.99). Did you try logging in with the app vs logging in via the website?

Yeah it's 60% still, maybe it's an eastern time zone thing?

How does this compare to AOE 2 and 3? Is Ghandi still an ass in 6?

CIV6 is still pretty expensive for an complete game (i.e., buying all the DLCs will cost you a bundle compared to how much CIV complete costed 4 years ago).

You need to log in with your steam account to get a better discount

Lots of talk in the reviews about the EULA being a red-shell. Pretty shocking to read how much personal information they collect and sell to partners.
So sad for a paid game.

So is Civ6 worth to play? I am seen mixed reviews. So I hesitated to pull the triger.

From a non-gameplay point of view, you might want to consider that Civ VI installs Red Shell on your machine. A 3rd party browser tracking program.

From a gameplay point of view:
I've put around 200 hours into Civ VI. The initial 30 or so being the honeymoon phase, most of the rest being my attempts to enjoy it - or revisiting it after patches and DLC to see the improvements.

Caveat: I play single player only. I continue to go back to Civ V because I do not care for the following points in VI:

The focus on micro-city planning, in a game that is empire building.
The combat is easy to the point of boredom.
Diplomacy is a total crapshoot most of the time.
Small wars causing centuries of hatred from the AI, as well as their agenda's which might make them dislike you for things like: not having a big navy, spawning too many great people, building a wonder, not expanding your borders, having more luxuries then them... basically doing well at the game.

In short, there are many better 4x strategy games you could pick up for a similar price.

Do you have any you'd recommend? I love strategy games, especially older ones like Command And conquer generals or age of empires.

A few that I've had a lot of fun with (playing Stellaris when not Civ lately).

Endless Legend - Fantasy 4x
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2891 ... ss_Legend/

Stellaris - Space 4x
https://store.steampowered.com/app/281990/Stellaris/

Age of Wonders 3 - Fantasy Empire Builder with Turn Based Strategy for Combat
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2268 ... nders_III/

Total war games always seemed solid to me as well - though I haven't played any of the newer ones.

That said... none of those are a lot like older RTS games you mention. They are closer to Civ. I'm out of touch with RTS games similar to C&C or Age of Empire these days.

I still play Civ5, the ebst one in the series in my opinion.

XCom 2 is also an amazing strategy game, very different though.

Thanks! I've already picked up AoE 3, Age of Mythology, Age of Empires 2 HD. Just wondering if there's anything semi-modern.

I would like to know as well, as the only modern game I've been awaiting is AOE 4 in RTS.

Thank you. I'm a simple man, @Coffeebot.

If I can't find a stellar game, I'm not going to compromise and waste my time.

I love AOE 2, I like AOE 3, and I'm ambivalent to the rest.

My Entire Steam Library:
Quake Live (20 to 30 Minute Games)
Quake Champions (20 to 30 Minute Games)
AOE II HD (Max 1.5 Hour Games)
AOE III (Max 1.5 Hour Games)

RTS extracts a time penalty.
