I played NieR:Automata because RFD had posted a good deal a few years ago in BB PS4 disc was 39.99 or 29.99.
I don't remember the exact price. It's one of the most favorite games I had been played.

Although this is remastered, but it's partially remaking too.

I always waiting for it on sale, now it's the time.

Hopefully, it's hot for everyone.

Great game as well. I would put it below Automata, but not by far.

Does this game make you start from the beginning if you fail the first boss, like Automata does? I gave it up after I failed twice, making me repeat over an hour of mindless slog.

Does Automata play well on PC? I read there were issues.

Too much backlog. I'll wait for it to go cheaper :)

I'm surprised by the amount of praise Nier Replicant gets. It's much, much worse than Automata, IMO.

Agreed. Terrible side quests, empty world, mashy combat, and you have to play through all that 5 times to get the "real" ending. Automata is a masterpiece. Replicant is a relic (and while having the same director, was made by a different developer).

Good on OP for posting the deal, but this is only for the most hardcore Nier fans and at MOST, worth $20.

It's not worth even 39?

Personally, this is one of my favorite games of all time and I would consider it to be easily worth $39. However, it's true that it is a remake / remaster of a 2010 game that was made by a mediocre developer and was already clunky by design back then (though some of that has been smoothed out in this new wersion). I also prefer the "Gestalt" version with the father character to the "Replicant" version with the brother character. Either way, though, I love this game and wanted to provide a differing opinion.

I don't think so. I'd rather spend that $40 on something else (Personal suggestion, but I just played through Borderlands 3 Ultimate which is around the same price and had a blast with all the content you get).
Also, as Automata was on Game Pass for PC, I'm pretty sure you can just wait a little to try this one out.

I LOVE Automata but was SHOCKED when I played Replicant at how mediocre and boring the gameplay was. Great story but you are just running around collecting beans or fishing in-between. If you are into the lore, it's better just to watch a YouTube video. $20 is the most I'd ever suggest anyone pay for this as I know 2 other huge Automata fans who also just gave up on this one.

Thumbs up for putting the full name of the game in the title, complete with TM and trailing dots lol.

Automata was pretty niche already: 3 of my 5 core gamer friends didn't like it. I didn't really like it despite beating the "real" game.

If Replicant is even nicher, I can't imagine how small the intended audience base is.

You can skip most of the encounters to the boss, shouldn't take more than 10 min... 1 hour really?

For the boss you can just lock on, hold the shoot button and do nothing except click the dodge button. I hope you're just exaggerating because its not at all difficult or long
