Gaming rig for this game? you can run it on a Pentium 1 with 128 MB of SDRAM and one of those Nvidia GeForce graphic cards

I still play Quake III Arena maps using IoQuake. Graphics is quite dated, but the bots AI are still spot to practice your reaction.

There are a lot of free to play multiplayer FPS games available in Steam though, and some are not cheapo low budget looking. Look for Free To Play tags. It needs not cost you anything other than your time and internet bandwidth, which although games do not use a lot, they need low ping rate. I played Black Squad months ago but now have moved on to Paladins, as I feel it has more depth.

Kudos. I used to play religiously, including with Rogan back in the day.

It was a different time, before gaming became a political theatre for irritants.

Quake 3 was one of the great loves of my life.

One of the finest first person shooters for its physics and weapon balance. But the physics was key.

Played Quake 2, 3 and Live for years, still would if I had the time. Tried QC but my MBP couldn't handle it. Still, great to have in my library. Thanks op!

haha yeah.

Quake 2 CTF and Rocket Arena was my start.

Then Quake 3 -- all mods -- Rocket Arena, 1v1, and some CTF.

Quake Live tried to recreate Quake 3, and although the physics was a close approximation, it wasn't perfect and they reduced some weapons' damage slightly. I'm not sure how Quake Champions compares.

One time I gave my buddy the idea to enter a closed, live QL tournament as an observer using a modified pro's name (destrukt/dkt)...and use some of his popular catchphrases...he was greeted warmly, and then they found out it wasn't him, they IP banned him! I was a troll like that.

I refuse to play it now...I love it too much, and I would be tempted to ignore too much real life if I got back into it. Maybe when I am like 50 years old and hopefully retired by then.
