vikings, poland, nubia and persia packs are overwhelmingly negative, that's 4 of 6 packs..yikes but will try them anyways. thanks op
I installed this last month when I got it from the Humble Choice. It was 10ish gigs total according to the steam downloader. The system requirements said it was more but that's what Steam downloaded. I have the Platinum edition so its the base + DLC + expansions.

I'm downloading it now and it's 9.7 gigs. The DLC is pretty small:

What's the verdict on anthology, at least at the ~$27 U/G price?

I don’t own any of those DLC. But I guess they were overwhelmingly negative because the value couldn’t justify the price back then. At this price, I wouldn’t mind having a few extra civs just to try.

The AI is dumb, the game essentially accelerates your opponents with bonus extras they had no chance of having... I was disappointed after not playing Civ for a while. Seems like they can't get away from cheating to give you a "challenge". Maybe I'm just older, but that isn't fun.

I am new to this type of games and often find things going too slow with it, like each turn is probably like 2 minutes and there are hundreds of turns...anyway to speed things up a little?

I think you have to play through once to get addicted once you realize what you COULD have accomplished had you taken different decisions. The addiction begins. One more turn my friend….

Already owned the base game, I am seeing $60. Is the deal dead?

Any one know if the frontier pack DLC is worth it for $28.

Where are you seeing the Frontier Pack for $28? Steam has it for $53.

I bought the platinum pack so it's its the price of the remaining dlcs from the anthology deal.

Just wait it out at this point. The new frontier pack is basically 6 DLCs that have new game modes on them along with the usual new scenarios and civilizations.

That's only about half off, so it's probably best to wait it out until they're also like 90% off.

By the time you get through the content you already have from Platinum pack, maybe the rest will be on sale again for more discount.

Thanks for that, I got the Platinum pack from humble choice last month . This is a good price for the missing DLC.
