So would still apply to this purchase.

Good pruning saw, but if you're bucking firewood, I'd go with the 250 at the very minimum. I've had my 250 for over 10 years, still runs like new. For cutting 5+ chords/year, you'll want something even more powerful though. I do about 10/year with the 250. It works, but it's not idea.

For a pruning saw, IMO most people would be better served with that B&D battery powered saw & pole pruner combo over the 170 at this price point.
