Stingray- Stream Music for free through your TV provider.

I cancelled my XM and Spotify subscription. Why pay when you can have FREE access to the premium version with your Stingray Music TV provider (Bell, Rogers, Cogeco, Shaws, Source Cable limited, tbaytel). Authenticate instantly with audio signal recognition or use your TV provider’s single login.
Download the Ios or Android App
use your TV Provider online log in
Follow steps on the app and authorize

Its a pretty good alternative for those who have it with their tv, maybe they dont need to pay for a music service, no reason for the downvotes

I downloaded it.. not sure if I will use it much. I think the downvotes might be because of the OP's words. I wouldn't call this a replacement for a paid service... from what I can see, you can't listen to particular bands or albums. No Howard Stern (obviously) or other stations/content like Sirius has. For what it is, its great... but again, its probably the comparison and saying why would you pay for a service like Sirius or Spotify when you can just have this. Thumbs up tho from me OP.

Yeah, it's a nice service but really no practical difference between this and the various streams on Google Play Music that anyone with an Android device already has. I presume Apple has a similar native app for iOS users?

I also have this free with Videotron Cell Service. I really like it. Free and lots of different stations to choose from.

Sirius lapsed on our cars and we wouldn't go back to it. Stingray allows you for skip songs and there are so many similar channels. With Sirius, you get one 80's channel and you can't skip it if you don't like the song. With Stingray, you can skip or go to a similar channel immediately.

We also use this at home with multiple Chromecast audio dongles to get whole home music.

been using this for years, wish the app was compatible with Android TV so I could use it on my TVs that don't have a TV box. Yeah I can cast it, but I'm lazy... :)

They've recently added more channels and my local radio station is on there as well.

Stingray music was always free with TV subscription with a provider who carries the StingRay music channels, I always though this was common knowledge and never thought of it as a "hot deal"

Stringray music is awesome, especially now that they've removed the 6 skips per hour limit. No ads and 320kbps ftw!

The cheapo way, install the app.

Then go to a bar, restaurant, parent or friend's house house that's playing music via Stingray. The app will 'start listening' and then authorize you for the free upgraded membership.

I've been using Stingray for years, and like it... however for many it's not a replacement for Spotify / Apple Music etc., since those let you search and play songs on demand, seek forward and backward through songs, and provide unlimited skips.

As an RFD'er, I sacrifice those features for free services like Stingray... but for others it may not be a suitable free replacement.

I'll upvote to help spread the word for those that may not be aware.

I've been using stingray since it's been out as well. And to be honest, I prefer it over paid subscriptions since I'm already paying for it, lol. I use stingray in conjunction with xm radio for travel. TBH, I can't justify paying $10 for a music service like spotify. Insane.
