Sub 150$ all season tires 225/45R18 95W advice?

It seems that my car tires are rated as high performance, even that my car is only 179 HP !!

Anyways, all cool until I started looking for tires, and unlike my wife's Jetta, my tires are all above the 180$ range.

Now I am not asking for Chinese unknown brands as I already know their pricing. But I am looking for known name. Found the following as current options:

BF goodrich comp A/S for 180$, and Goodyear Eagle A/S 170$.

Sometimes things are cheaper just as they were not marketed well, but still better quality than other more expensive items. That is what I am looking for.

Found Kelly tires, but they don't carry the speed rating of W, only V, not a big deal for me, but the price difference doesn't temp me that direction.

Stay strong, situation always looks harder and that it will never end when you are in the middle of it, but remember past experiences, everything has an ending.

Year, make, model, trim. It's hard to help you if all we know about the car is that it has 179 hp...

What high performance tires are on the car now?

Took a quick look, and you're not getting much for $150/ea. $180/ea gives you a few quality options.

Motomaster at Canadian Tire are cheap and made by an actual company and just branded for CT. They're decent.

Why do u need car model and trim if I gave all the required info for the tire?

Because that's how I would make an informed suggestion.

It's also because I can't do anything with your vague claim that they're "high performance". High performance what? As you can see there are many types of high performance tires.

Cooper is a legitimate tire brand, infact my Motomaster tires were made by Cooper. They're fine.

Why are you only providing part of the picture if you’re asking for advice?

Costco has the Pirelli Pzero all season plus ( item 1012129) at $180 each plus there also an $80 rebate till apr 7 ($160 effective)

Btw, if you are also looking for cheap winters, some CT stores are clearing out Xice3 for $153 (item 108-2720-0 )

Edit btw, tomorrow only CT has a $30 gift card off $150 promo, so those Cooper tires could be cheaper. You need a filler to get you to $150 then try buying 1 tire at a time ? You might have to go to 4 different stores (card is valid from mar22-31 so you can’t rise/repeat) (edit card can’t be used for auto labor)

Thank you dear sir. I actually just saw them by changing my search on costco from vehicle to tire size. The Pirellies are Y rated which is higher and is good to still use. Checking when Costco has the free installation for those tires that would make it a deal for me.
So for CT giftcard I will have to buy one tire at the time, why not stick to the same store ?

Depends on the store. In the CT winter tire clearance thread, some rfders had success in the same store for 4 tires with the $10 off $40 coupons , someone else was forced to go to 4 different stores

That model doesn't exist for my noted tire size.

Fuzion are decent tires, part of the Bridgestone family. Some fuzion tires models are still made in Japan

Sounds a lot like the tires for my 09 Mazda 6... lol shocked me a bit when I realized I had to replace them on what the straight tire cost would be.

1. Don't buy no seasons.
2. Don't cheap out on tyres.

So far he said:
  • 225/45R18 95W
  • 179 hp
  • Wife has a Jetta (He may have another VW?)
  • Just started looking for tires (probably a newer car)
and he considers his car as not a performance car.

Looking solely at his tire size and speed rating, not many vehicles fit the criteria. Of the limited amount, the 2017 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack is the most likely, despite it actually being 170hp for the North American market. The engine is tuned differently(?) elsewhere and is rated at 179hp everywhere outside NA.

The other factors of his wife owning a Jetta and the vehicle not being considered performance would further lend credence to this suggestion

Lol you guys really got me smiling here. At this point, I am interested in seeing more guesses about what I have as a vehicle. So far it might be a BMW, Mazda or a volkswagen ;). No one nailed it yet btw.
