Subwoofer? Dayton 1200 or HTS 12 or Elac 1010?

Step 1: Do a google search for "V.B.S.S. subwoofer"
Step 2: buy materials and components
Step 3: build
Step 4: dominate all

Ask me how I know.... I have two of these in my dedicated home theater

Elac looks like a good value for its price.

The Polk HTS12 is not in there but the HTS10 does pretty well. So does the Dayton.
Elac is a step down but you can almost buy two of those for the same price which would be very worthwhile. Two subs really improves the sound quality in a typical room

I dont think I can spend the nearly $1300 for an SVS PB.

You have to just keep your eyes out on deals. I picked up TWO HTS10 for $307.99+HST from Visions in May 2020 ...

If you can't spend $1300 on a sub ... then eliminate it from your list. No point to even think about it if you can't afford it or can't justify paying for it.

I haven't seen many good subwoofer deals in the last year or two. They HTS12 used to go on sale for $400 or even less. AVR deals also seem to be rare.

It's a decent sub (good solid build quality and what looks like a decent driver).

Man, has that gone up. I paid 280.84$ shipped taxes in from solen.ca in 2016.

I agree with the comments that there have not been any deals on subs over the past two years given all the Covid related supply chain issues and inflation. However, I thought we would still see something from time to time. The Polk Audio HTS10 could be had for $300 pre-Covid on a number of occasions but absolutely no deals the last two years on it. If anything, Best Buy has actually increased the price of the HTS10.
