Suggestions for USB 3.1 2.5 SSD enclosure

Hi guys,

Looking for an affordable alternative to buying external hard drives or SSD drives. Thought of getting an adapter/enclosure to swap SSD drives for video editing. Any suggestions of a good cable or adapter/enclosure?

Running a Mid 2012 Macbook Pro but want to able to use this for PC's and for any other computers i end up getting.

Would really appreciate some expert advice!

I use this https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00IWOZAAQ/

Never did any benchmark so I can comment on the max speed. Definitely faster than your average USB drive though

Nvm, you wanted usb3. 1

Not an expert but I use this one http://www.ncix.com/detail/mediasonic-p ... 118848.htm

It has aluminum case so better protection and heat dissipation. It also has UASP which is needed for SSD speeds.

I've been using it for the SSD boot drive for my mac mini (thru usb 3.0 though) in the last few months and so far no problem.

That particular Orico drive doesn't support SATA III making it a bad fit for SSD in general, even if the person wasn't looking USB 3.1.
