This suitcase, this lock, forgotten code and how do I open it?

I have an older suitcase, part of a set we bought many years back. We wanted to open it and get the carry on that is stored inside but we misplaced the code. This lock's reset button is on the inside and the universal code does not work. The holes are for a broken handle. I believe it is a Samsonite rebranded as Air Canada.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

Canada, eh?
I can't tell from the photo but is it zipper?

If yes just take a ballpoint pen, jam it between the zipper and it'll open.

Sorry, no not Zipper type. I can force it open with a screw driver but I don't want to trash it. I want to give it to someone. Still in good shape, just need to reinstall the handle that's inside the case.

It’s only 999 numbers. Just try all of them? From the picture it looks like you push down the Air Canada part to open it.

This

Kid forgot the combo to their Kryptonite Bike Lock

Wise parent figured it cuz they had more patience than kid

Lucky for us both … it wasn’t attached to bike at the time … just had been put in a drawer and forgotten

So was a few hours of my sitting in front of the tv trying various combos

Look in between the dial and the case on either side. In older locks, the shaft had a cut that showed when the number was in position. If the gap is not big enough, you might have to use some sort of feeler gauge. Not sure if it's been improved since.

Happened to me before. You really have to try 001,002 003 all the way up to 999 . It will eventually open.

Look for the YouTube videos by LockPickingLawyer for this type of locks. He opens them faster than you can dial the code.

I wasn't going to go through all the combos. I just forced opened it with a screw driver and called it a day. I will use it one last time as a non returning piece of luggage.

Thanks for the help.
