Summer Camp or Program Recommendations

What do you guys recommend for the summer time in terms of child care? We both work so when school ends we need some care options... But we don't know what camps or programs are good

I am hoping I can find something where my child will have fun and learn. Safety is of course a priority as well!

Important info missing here …

How old is the child ?

That’s gonna make a big difference in regards to recommendations on possible camps / activities

So it’s a case of you start with the basics in how to figure it out

Kids Ages
Your Budget
Interests
Then finally what fits into the family schedule
And what’s available… and which ones are better rated etc

Once you tell us some of these things
It’ll be easier to give you age appropriate examples
Or options for activities / camps

Good point!
My daughter is 4 yrs old.

She likes dance, doesnt like soccer. She loves going to school and she likes science. She is a very quick learner and is very smart and likes to learn.

There is a generous budget , I'm ok with spending lots especially if it's of quality and will help her development etc.

We live in Etobicoke.

We would love something similar to what we have now 7:30- 3:30 pm or later. Mon-Friday

Look into gymnastics camps. There's always lots of them out there.
The boys and girls club offers camps in my area. Look into them.

Hi I live close to you! My son is almost 6 and I just finished his summer camp registrations. Overall it depends on your budget. My son is lucky that his school before & after care program offers summer camp coverage, so theoretically I can opt him into his school summer camp for the whole 9 weeks of summer (school summer camp is also subsidized so it's also highly budget friendly). However, I wanted him to get a wider variety of experiences this summer so I am only putting him in his school camp for 4/9 weeks and the other 5/9 weeks, I registered him in various different camps (like 1 week of sports camp, 1 week of science camp, 1 week of swim camp, etc.). Note that a lot of these summer camps will offer before and after care options (ie. 8 am to 9am, and then 4pm to 5/5:30pm) at an extra cost.

If you want cheaper options, check out Toronto Parks and Rec (city of Toronto summer camp programs). However, I am quite certain these options have pretty much all filled up (they book up FAST so I tend to avoid).

You can also check out YMCA summer day camp options - I enrolled my son in the Toronto Island day camp for a week. The Y also offers bus routes to pick up/drop off your kid from the ferry terminal.

Other ones that may be interesting (although since your child is 4, I am not sure if there are that many that offer programs for such a young age):

https://brickworksacademy.com/summer-day-camps
https://www.truenorthcamps.com/
https://www.mapleleafsummercamp.com/
https://www.codeninjas.com/ (Queensway location)

Hope this helps.
