The official release date is september 17th. It shows up in stock in-store on the website, but it's an error, they cannot be sold before the 17th (one employee went to the back to confirm).

I don't understand why this is releasing on the 11th in the US but the 17th here.

I preordered one for in-store pickup, it's in stock now online for pre-order.

Not really, great battery life and it has NFC for amiibo... mind you I would appreciate a cheaper model with no NFC.

The pro controller can't work with the Mario Party game, right? I wish they have a joy con bundle instead.

What exactly is the "preorder" here? Just the combo of controller and Odyssey download? There's nothing new here, right?

Odyssey is an amazing game, if you're a fan of any platformer. The controls are super tight and incredibly fun, and it's very rewarding in different ways
for inexperienced players and pros.

It's like the opposite of the unfair physics in Mario Sunshine, haha. I can't wait to play that and suffer again.

Correct nothing new, it's not even a limited edition controller like they've done in the past with Smash or Splatoon 2.

Anyways unless you're specifically interested in getting Digital copies of your Switch games either a 20% off OR 20x day (or heaven forbid, both combined) day at Shoppers is arguably a better deal if you have one with electronics.

On a 20% day it's $71.99 for the controller and $63.99 for a game. Combined that's $135.98 + tax and I would argue that a game of your choice + having it be a physical copy is worth the extra $6, since it's just the same controller anyways. Plus you can resell your game after if you choose.

On a 20x day you get 50.7k worth of points back, potentially worth $75+ if you redeem them on the right day.

Yeah it’s pretty annoying. Apparently the joy cons have some balls that you have to feel. The pro controller can’t feel the balls for Mario party.

Physical copy is a fail for me. I prefer downloads - much easier, and no need to keep changing cartridges.

Math may be a little off unless I'm missing something.
135 x 15 x 20 = 40.5k (still good value)

20x day is full price (so $89.99 and $79.99), not reduced, so it's 169x15x20.

Those rare days where we've had 20% and 20x stack is another matter entirely.
