They usually only get consoles in for Black Friday.

They do get consoles when they advertise, but they keep them locked up with Customer Service. So you would have to go ask them

It was <$300 on black Friday with sales tax. It was even cheaper during the shoppers drug mart promo that was during late March. This is a cold deal unless you are bored.

Yes it is, but if people don't have one and want something to do at home it's probably the best option right now.

Dude, I got ps4 with two games for $305 before tax, black Friday 2017...I know no time machine, but as other people suggested, it is not a deal.
Also the PS5 is around the corner...

PS4s have been difficult to find recently as well since people have been buying them and/or switches because of the social distancing.

No tax is ok but if you have a points offer at shoppers I think that’s probably a better deal. They’re also running a points redemption promo next week so if you have 200k points to redeem you could do that instead.

Not technically free, you used the value of your points to purchase it rather than say groceries.

ps5 too close to the horizon so this will have a massive price drop bf or christmas. ~250 or better should be fair to dealhunters. :) i got a ps4 controllers to tide me over the wait and play on the pc.

The reg. price for PS4 and Xbone (S) have been ripoffs for years. I've said this in countless threads. They've been $250-280 in every BF/BD sale for the previous three years--2017, 2018, 2019. There's no way the reg.price shouldn't have been $250ish since 2018 sometime but nope they keep insisting on having some totally ludicrous reg. price. The reg. price for PS4 and Xbone S should be $250; this price ($380) should be the reg. price for PS4 Pro and Xbone X.

I imagine the only people that but at "reg. price" are kids and their parents; I feel sorry for anyone that bought at that price anytime between 2017 and today though.

At lease MS has had some "sales" recently for the exact same prices mentioned but don't think Sony had anything similar since BD. Once Series-X comes out I will imagine they will discontinue the S and the reg. price for the X will become $380...

I wouldn’t look too much into the PS5 release this Christmas. Sony and MS are going to be suffering from supply chain issues with NAND. These next gen consoles are going to be more expensive than the typical new console launch price and far more limited in stock as well. Even Sony isn’t expecting much for the first year.

Not buying something on sale ISN'T a crime, buying something not on sale IS.

Would be hot if it was a Pro. I bought a regular PS4 with Uncharted 4 at Superstore no tax event three years ago for $250. I know, I know, time machine and all that, but if you're considering buying a PlayStation for almost $400 at this point, I'd save that money and put it towards a PS5, since they will be backwards compatible.

Somewhat backwards compatible .. ~100 ps4 game will work at launch mark cerny said.. which is strange considering the series x has complete xbone compatibility...

$379.99 for a PS4 Slim is actually MSRP at launch.
