Buy type cover separately - when you get the $50 promo code. This is a very good deal. You are practically getting Xbox One for free.

Hmm I'm not a student, can I get this deal using someone else student id?

So, buy this, sell XB1 on Kijiji for $300.

Get everything for $1031.14 after tax?

Edit: Not really a great deal for me personally, have no use for the XB1, and I wouldn't want the M processor SP4.

You'd be very lucky to have a buyer for the XB1 at $300.

Good luck selling it for $300. New XBox S is coming out and I am not sure you can find someone who want the old one at just a modest discount from retail.

As for the Surface Pro 4 , the m3 is in my opinion a little under powered and over priced so you might want to go a little higher. . The i5 is amazingly quiet and nimble for just under a hundred more, a no brainer in my opinion. It is the 8GB ram SKU that is the real problem. 4 GB more rams really shouldn't cost $400 more.

Last week the SP4 (m3 version) was 999$ (using student discount). In fact you can still get the base SP4 for 999$. So basically you are getting the XBox for 178$ - 50$ (store credit) = 128$? Does this make sense?

Depends. Does he look like you?

Not a very hot deal, but I guess MS is just trying to get more sales on the xbone...

Conversely, how much could you sell the Surface for? And how much would the XB1 end up costing in that case? Maybe a decent deal for just the xbox one?

Strongly agreed. What is MS thinking charging $400 more for a paltry 4gb ram?? At the very most it should be $100 more max.

To be fair, the SSD adds to the cost too but ya not $400 more. $200 tops(and that's pushing it).

Wow, must be some students out there with far more cash than I had when I was in college.

Doesn't seem like much of a deal for some of the higher models or the Surface Book. You end up paying close to $300 extra vs. the regular student discount. Seems like you are just paying for the Xbox One.

Surface Pro 4 I5 4GB is the best value. Google YouTube for a student evaluation of it. I picked up this model and is right for most people except gamers and prof graphics designers.
