Swatch Group Friends & Family Sale (Toronto), Wed June 14

Retailer:
Swatch
It's time again for the semi-annual Swatch Group Friends & Family Sale!

I've been to the last few of these and the discounts are generally very good. Mido is returning for the second time, but looks like no Omega again.

543 Richmond Street West, Suite 101
Wednesday June 14
9:00am to 5:00pm

Haha yeah, it's almost like they are purposely trolling with those hours.

They are doing this out of their HQ and not a retail store and it is most likely Corp employees running the sale and not retail staff; they are not going to offer retail hours.

Maybe it is time for another Hamilton auto?
Or a Longines Hydroconquest dive watch. :)

Who downvoted this?
1/2 price high quality watches is a great value for those in the market.

I am currently wearing an ORIS BC3.

I was at this building last year I think.
Entrance is on the east side next to the parking lot.

I could not have found this at a worse time. Purchased a Hamilton auto as a gift last week. Wonder if it will even be sold here...

Damn... There is a Tissot I've been eyeballing for 2 years now... Maybe I'll have to swing by and hope it's there...

I used to work in the industry, they are still making a decent margin at half off. The watches are either unpopular models and/or store/customer returns.

I would also avoid Oris due to them using Selita movements.

This is the first I've heard someone caution against Sellita movement. I'm a fan of Oris watches. My Aquis runs 1 sec off per day if I round up. I'd be curious to know why you say to avoid Sellita movements.

Edit: I want to add, for those not familiar with Sellita, the Sw200 is basically the same as the Eta 2824 plus 1 jewel. ETA movements used to be outsourced to Sellita for manufacturing.

Hoping to find a good deal on a Hamilton or Tissot, but are we realistically looking at only 10% off here?

Based on what I've seen in the previous sales, the Hamiltons and Tissots tend to be around 50% off.

I'm also curious whether I should take a half day off to go to this sale. I too am in the market for a Hamilton or Tissot, with a leather strap. For the low end/mid-range watches, how do the savings compare to grey market dealers like Jomashop and Amazon?
