Check if those gift cards have a scratch off pin on the back and don't buy it if it doesn't have one. I bought one from SDM before that did not have it, and my GC was promptly used after I activated it. Someone must've copied down all the GC numbers and kept on checking the balance every day until it was activated. Went through quite a bit of hassle with CT to get the money back.
Unless this is a recent development, I don't think Canadian Tire has gift cards that have scratch off pins. The card number encoded on the magnetic stripe is the same number displayed on the card.

You're best off asking if they have any new ones in the back.

Not about the deal but noticed so many product prices have gone significantly up and we visit at least once a month.

Food for take out like beef brisket used to be $6, then 8 and now $10.

4 pack Korean instant noodles for $9? And many more where prices have gone significantly up.

Can't wait for Seafood City to open in Heartland.

Consumers shop elsewhere where it's cheaper?

Are these redeemable online? If not then it's not an issue, they hardly allow punching in card numbers to redeem in store. I wouldn't worry about it too much

It is US-based and the more grocers the better, at least from what most informed consumers know.

It's never wrong/bad to have competition, from a consumer standpoint.

Can anyone confirm in GTA area?
Yes. At the thornhill location there are no signs at the gift card display but the cash registers have ads posted showing the sale.

Don't think so, but the problem with CT Gift cards is that fraudsters can copy down the number, encode it onto a different GC, and cash out on your GC. It can and has happened in the past (check past threads). All the fraudsters need is a bunch of gift cards & a magnetic stripe encoder that can be easily bought for $20 on Aliexpress.
Unfortunately, CT Gift Cards have a term "Canadian Tire is not responsible for replacing the value on this card if it is lost, stolen, destroyed, damaged, or used without your knowledge or consent." People in past threads have reported getting their money back from CT, but it's still a pain to deal with.
