[T&T Supermarket] Face Mask (Non-medical) $6.99 for 50 pcs

GTA T&T Supermarket has face mask on sale at $6.99 / 50 pcs this week. In the flyer, the price is $9.88 but in store, it is $6.99 on sale marked down from $14.99.

I cut it up to check the middle layer and it passed the following three tests.
  1. Touched and felt it. I could feel the static created with my touch.
  2. Held it up and looked through it under sunlight and could not find any visible tiny hole.
  3. Used a green laser to shine on it, no green laser could pass through the middle layer.

The only thing I found negative about this is the ear loop which is a little loose but that can be easily adjusted for me.

Cost 2 cents (HKD)/mask in China
Cost 20 cents (HKD) in HK.

and we were paying $1 per mask several months ago. Since everyone is starting to wear a face mask and not just in Asia, I think there will be a landfill of face masks in the future.
Maybe more than plastic straws.

When you are outside, seeing people having disposable masks, you never know if their masks are medical grade or not. Plus, how many people wear masks correctly or never touched or adjusted it or hang it under their chin or mirror?

If we are not wearing them properly, they are not going to be effective against virus. Plus we are wearing them as face covering, then cloth masks with a water-proof layers will likely be cheaper alternatives.

My physio now hands out medical grade masks for all patients, they ban all outside masks for the safety of everyone.

Won't happen as long as they're made in China. He needs the liberal fundraising money.

Canada computers have masks for $7.99 for 50 pcs. I have been using them since April and think they work and fit great. Will be buying more shortly.

Medical grade is not that important. Any material will catch the larger droplets and COVID seems not to spread effectively via smaller ones.

Obviously better masks work better, but with any technology, there is no need to always use the absolute best...

You are correct about needing to wear the mask over the mouth and nose obviously.

First off, thanks for the post and link but based on your link, they clearly state that medical masks are 3x more effective than home made and home made should be used as last resort.
