T-Mobile and Sprint agree to merge, create giant to rival AT&T and Verizon

Announcement: https://newsroom.t-mobile.com/news-and- ... forall.htm

"This deal will reduce competition, leaving the US with three major nationwide wireless carriers instead of four. The companies abandoned a merger attempt in 2014 when it became clear that Obama administration regulators wouldn't allow it."

This is exciting and scary news all at the same time.

Exciting for the possibilities. But I'm worried because I'm a T-Mobile customer.

I would say half and half. I'm in the US much of the time in the summer and in Canada more in the winter so it varies month to month.

Thinking Face this is indeed messed up. Two mutually incompatible networks 🤣

They'd have to keep both customer bases and brands practically separate until 5G, unless they dump customer migrations.

where I belong
Investors didn't like it, S and TMUS both dropped BIGLY even with better ER's
I picked up TMUS at $56 USD (it was ~$64 before the merger rumors)

but yeah, I don't think it'd go through with this US gov't

Damn that's huge news.

Edit: Ok, not as huge as I was initially thinking of. For some reason I was thinking Verizon lol
