I've bought (and returned) the Samsung M7 32" monitor which unfortunately didn't work well. Any other suggestions, sub-$500? USB-C isn't a must (but would be nice). IPS would be great, but not a deal-breaker.

Looks to be a decent deal at $328. I have the older model from 5 years ago and have not had any issues with it.Considering adding another for side by side setup. Not sure how it plays with the VESA stands.https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B084V9CJB1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
