OK So I'm starting to lose my mind with this. Last year I had attic condensation which leaked through my window frame from up-above. I say last year but it's ongoing, it's just that last year it was cold enough for long enough, that when we were hit with ...

How much of an issue would it be to install a 24" wide run of OSB in my attic along the middle of the house, as a "catwalk" (only crawling, no room for walking) for the bit of work I plan on doing in the attic? I'm not worried structurally, I'm ...

It is in a corner under the soffit (picture attached). I do notice early in the morning (6-7 am) there are bird chirping sounds but I thought ...

... I went with them to replace the entire roof back in Oct 2021. Fast forward to Jan 2022, I notice dark water marks on some plywoods seen from the attic that I didn’t see before. Please refer to attached photos. Called the roofer back to inspect, took 4 attempts rescheduling he finally came by ...

... makes sense because I only see this problem during times of high humidity - not when it's raining or snow is melting. Recently had to go in the attic (which I rarely do as I have no reason to) and noticed dampness and frost where the skylight is - I don't see frost/dampness anywhere else except ...

Hello guys, I'm trying to add a single pot light to existing light fixture. I've never done this before. I've looked in the internet and figured out that I need to wire toward the rafters along the side of the joist and go through joists (drill in the middle). Please correct me if I'm wrong. One que...

... The latest HVAC company made a suggestion to put the systems in the corner of the room above the garage and putting all insulated duct work in the attic. Doing this would solve: 1. Will be able to heat and cool this room, thus adding roughly 350 sq ft of conditioned space to the house thus increasing ...

See picture. my attic has pretty thick blown-in insulation. I haven't stepped onto an attic before, and I am not too comfortable doing so when I cannot see the joists to step on easily. I am thinking of buying a heavy duty flashlight ...

... there are several contributing factors: - the angle of the sun light - the shape of the roof casting shadow - air-handler and ducts are in the attic (ducts are insulated and covered by R60-level loose fill insulation) - blocked soffits (lack of ventilation in attic) I know there is plywood ...

I want to blow in more insulation and went to check out the baffles today. To extend them, is it okay to just staple more similar baffles up higher? Or is it better to remove them all and redo them?

Some houses recently build have living space in the attic area. Pro is obviously additional living space. What are the cons? Decrease attic ventilation leading to moisture? decrease insulation as there would be less insulation when attic space is converted ...

I have mice get into the roof and need a professional service to clean the attic of droppings and dead mice so I can then hire a contractor to repair the holes the mice created. Looking for processional quality cleaning with a reasonable price, it's a small attic so it should be a quick and easy job.

... some power to it from a wall switch or a thermostat. I'm getting insulation/baffles/soffit work done to help with ventilation so wondering if an attic fan is even needed? And then of course i'm thinking of why not get a solar powered one to help energy bill out :D
