Advice on buying Blu-ray Burner / Writer for PC & Mac for archiving / backup?

[Home Depot] Napoleon BBQ 365 2 burner $300 natural gas ymmv?
I just picked up this 2 burner natural gas Napoleon bbq from home depot at dufferin and Steele. It was regular 699, marked down to 599 and again down to 300 dollars! Would have loved a 3 or 4 burner, but that price was too good to turn down. They had one more on the floor at the entrance.

Expert Grill 6 Grill burner normally $348.00 but on clearance for 199.99 in-store, still seems to be $348.00 online, not sure if the brand is great but I got one, seemed not bad for a 6 Burner grill, same price as the 4 burner. 4 in Leduc Walmart still.

MAc Apple burner incompatible with Amazonbasics DVD+R blank discs?
... because na unexpected error occurred (error code 0x8002006E)". I'm using Mac OS HIgh Sierra v 10.13.6 2.7 Intel Core I5 (mid 2011), so the burner is built into the side of the Mac. Is it a compatibility issue? I remember these discs work with the external burner at work. Any solutions? ...
