Hypothetically, if I buy a cable modem from Start, TekSavvy, etc., can I use the same cable modem with a different provider? For example, if I buy a cable modem from TekSavvy and then end up changing services, can I use the same cable modem on Start?

I'm look to buy a cable modem for instead of using the one from my ISP. I don't need a router, just a modem.I would like a vertical standing one with wifi, DOCSIS 3.0 and up to 300 Mbps. Hopefully under $200. I use a third party ISP and they use the Telus infrastructure.

I was planing to switch isps. From carry tel cable to ebox cable.I am using the tc4350 50041.1.15.0Although carrytel, teksavvy,ebox lists the firmware needs to be 50041.1.19.0.Will I have issues with switching?
