Hi,I am going to top-up my attic insulation from current R20 to R60 but before doing that I found this open box lying on my attic floor. How do I cover it before insulation top up(cellulose)? House is built in 1999. See attached pic of what I want to cover. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

... to remove the 'seal' in case the technical needs to replace cables(bell/rogers/etc). what would be the best option here? I am not sure if duct seal putty is a good choice as it is a relatively big area to cover.
