Above grade or below grade Separate entrance
Hello,I need to make a side separate entrance ( with no digging ) to my finished basement ( not a sec unit but for family use)What kind of permit do I need ?How can I know if my entrance considered as above grade entrance or below grade entrance ?Please help

Is it legal for your neighbor to make a below ground separate entrance? Also, is it legal for them to rent it out?If it's legal, then how many tenants are they allowed to have?

Opinion on Adding a seperate entrance to existing home
Does anyone have any experience adding a seperate backyard entrance to the basement of an existing home? My research indicates that underpinning the basement is the best way to do this, however a few contractors have advised that it’s overkill expensive and adding styrofoam is sufficient.Thoughts?

Other than basement rental, what is the purpose of side entrance to basement ?
I think that side entrance creates another entry point for break in. If you buy a house that comes with it, would it find a way to block it ? 😅
