There are some cheap flights from Vancouver to Maui in December. The prices are pretty good in November and early in 2024 as well (under $400).

Expedia: Any way to book flights on 1 ticket?
... flight, and then the return at the end. Couple of problems: 1. Expedia seems to have a 5 leg limitation, and 2. severely restricts the choice of flights for the long haul so I cannot get the fare I want. Or is airfare a waste for Expedia and should I use it for accommodations instead?
