... the Simplii and Tangerine rates however this is for all new customers not just targeted. This is a promo of 2.75% interest for first 4 months of HISA/TFSA account being opened. They are registered for CIDC so your funds are protected (seeing I have never heard of this bank).

Logged into my Tangerine ... and putting the promo rate aside ... regular rate is showing at 0% currently ...Rep sees it too .. .goes to supervisor, who said "possibly a glitch" (?)They are "planning to investigate" this, or so I've been told. :)

Why do banks impose a limit on the max amount of cash you can deposit to get their promotional rate? Aren’t they trying to get the max amount of cash? What is the difference between 1person x $10million vs 100 people x 100thousand? I think it would be “cheaper” to manage one account and lots of cash.
