    Are you still able to get a mortgage if your spouse is on an 18 month maternity leave?Lender says that a letter with regular salary on it is required but my wife is an RN and they are paid hourly so her income fluctuates a bit.

  • If my wife takes the 18 months leave, am I forced to take the 8 week option or can I still take 5 weeks?

    She is taking the extended 18 months and I would also like to take some time off when the baby comes, but I don't want to take a full 8 weeks. I am unclear if I would be forced into the extended 8 weeks.

    In Ontario, is EI paid benefits maternity leave up to 15 weeks and actual allowed maternity leave up to 17 weeks? In other words you can take 17 weeks if you want to, but you won't get paid for 2 weeks?Googling the answer was not super clear.
