Why are most people surprised that anyone can freely take pictures of you without your permission in public?
I would understand the surprise if it came from people from Quebec as it is indeed illegal to do so there, but it's generally people from elsewhere in Canada who are surprised that they are not entitled to privacy from being photographed in public spaces.
