Heattrak or other outdoor snow melting mats?
... or similar? They seem kind of overpriced for what they are, but could save a lot of labour, especially for a cottage where a week's worth of snow can be daunting. I'd like to know how effective they are, any drawbacks, how much they cost to run, and what kinds of options there are. Thanks!

Cars buried under snow bad?
What kind of damage does it cost (except metal corrosion by salt) on a car if buried in the snow for days?I want to buy a car in a month and afraid will be given one which has been buried in the snow. There're snow storms over the last two months. Should I be worried?
