Stain for a kitchen countertop?
I'm planning on staining and then sealing it. First timer so do you have any hints on how to do it?Brands? Indoors or outdoor? Gloss and finish?I'm assuming that I should choose something water based and non toxic as it's a eating and food prep area?

I use this on our outdoor cedar chairs and tables. I've tried other stains, this one has given the best performance. Typically the finish will last two years perhaps more if the item is out of the sun. As with all painting preparation is key to good results.
