Toronto to Madeira, Portugal w/Layover or Stopover in Lisbon. Business class (~$1800) **Nov & Dec 2023 Only**

Deal Link:
Price:
~1800 CAD
Expiry:
June 30, 2023
Retailer:
TAP Portugal
Can book this as a trip to Lisbon with a quick 1 night in Maderia if you choose to, though you will have to book through a known OTA (or play around in TAPs website booking). Should earn ~16.5K Aeroplan points.
Porto is also available as the destination for $2200 w/layover or stopover in Lisbon.

You can use your RBC Avion points to redeem against your tickets (including taxes and fees) for ~90K points, if you have a visa infinite privilege product.

Please note that TAP is not known for the best customer service, though in the end, thousands of people do fly with them daily without issue.

Has a flight with Tap Air last month and couldn't be more happy. Very good service and didn't have any issue. Our flight was moved one day ahead but the change was made a couple of months ago, and all I had to do was send a confirmation through Twitter DM. Much more easy than calling there.

Glad to hear that your experience with them was a good one! Ive heard some stories similar to AC when it comes to TAP during the pandemicm so just wanted to give a fair warning.

they're using A321neo for the TA portion..so these are more like PE on the legacy carriers (or Business on domestic narrowbodies) and not lie flat with direct aisle access for all rows biz like on widebodies for AC and others

the ~ $1800 is how much imo the "business" class on these segments are worth imo as it's just basically PE hard product and soft product is weaker as well.

i'll take it over economy class, but wouldn't value it same as widebody J class seats and service

Everytime a TAP business class fare out of Toronto comes along someone replies with something similar. They are lie-flat seats. The blog link I provided even has pics..

clearly a lesser hard product than any real J class from legacy carrier and some non legacy like Jetblue on their A321

... versus say JetBlue on the A321 XLR and what AC will be having in theirs as well

I guess you have not flown on LH, AF, OS, LO and many other airlines that still have J seats with 2 seats side by side with no aisle access. Those are, by definition, legacy carriers.

In any case, the cost is cheaper than a PE fare on any other airline to a similar location. Not sure why you continue to insunate it's a bad deal.

good price for any airline business class these days

i find premium economy just as comfortable for sitting/leaning back and the food is decent

Thanks OP, just booked the Madeira itinerary for December... was especially thrilled when I put a pair of tickets on hold yesterday morning and a few hours later received a Google Flight Alert that the price had doubled!
