tapping noise from radiator tube?

In the last few weeks, I have noticed twice a tapping noise coming from radiator tube after shutting down car. The noise goes away after about 15 mins. Anyone has any idea what this might be? Coolant level looks ok. I haven't noticed any excessive white smoke from exhaust although it's hard to tell as temperature has been minus here. Engine temp gauge has been normal. I did hear gurgling sound around coolant reservoir once.

What car is it? Have you had any work done recently?
My first thoughts are a relay somewhere nearby or maybe a valve like your t-stat opening/closing. Or possibly air in the rad system bubbling around.

It's a 2012 ML350. Last service was back in May. I can feel the ticking vibration slightly if I touch the tube going to the coolant reservoir. It definitely feels like it's coming from the rad system. The radiator cap looks ok. Don't see any residue around it.
