[Tbooth Wireless] Double Trade In Value + $200 Credit

Expiry:

Retailer:
Tbooth Wireless

This is pinned to the top of the forum, but I just wanted to outline the deal I received because I feel like it's under appreciated.

I traded in my cracked iPhone XS Max 64gb (The back was cracked) and they gave me a $566 trade in value + $200 on top. I then paid $174 towards my balance because they added another $66 off if I did. So a total of $832 off the balance of a new phone.

So all said and done, I am paying $58 a month with Fido for 12 gigs of data and an iPhone 12 128gig. I would never have considered trading in a phone to a carrier, but they gave me more than I could get on the used market (especially in the condition it was in)

Edit: Yes, you need a 24 mo contract. They waved the $50 act fee for me as well.

I pay my remaining balance off, which is around $220 or so at this time.

No, but it's still generous compared to the used market due to the double value +$200. This may not be the case for everyone, but for me with the cracked back it was a way better deal than I could get selling on craigslist.

Is the double trade in value + $200 for any phone or just the iPhone 12?

anyone know trade in value for iphone 11 good condition no cracks
My phone plan is $400 a month for 500 MB of data.
My internet plan is $199.99 for capped internet and slow speeds.
My credit cards are the ones with annual fees but terrible rewards.
Did I RFD correctly?

So theortically. Lets say you have 2 phones

You trade in one to Tbooth towards a Zflip 3. Get a trade in balance +$200 to use towards the puchrase.

Take your other phone, and trade it in to samsung for at least another $200.

Seems like a cheap way to get a new Zflip no?

You must get the phone from a one carrier but not samsung directly?

You can also cancel and just pay your remaining phone balance.
Whoops! Forgot to mention they waved the $50 as well.

I think it’s a good deal for trading in a cracked phone. But if I understand it correctly, the $800+ credit includes the trade in value of the phone and the bonus from them. So if you have a functioning phone, this is not a hot deal but more than a normal deal you would expect.

Usually for a Black Friday deal for a contract, I would expect a $300-$350 GC from Costco or Walmart, and a phone plan with $5-10 credit. The credit is more YMMV but GC is very reasonable.

For this year, I would expect Fido/Virgin/Koodo to have a financing plan of $30 for 24 months for iPhone 12, which is equivalent to a balance of $720+tax = $810.

That being said, if you have a functional phone (e.g. iPhone xr) that can be sold for $400, you will get $700-$750 (combined with GC) for your new phone.

Also keep in mind that the phone plan you’re willing to pay. If you’re currently in a loyalty plan, say, $40 for 10 gig of data, then if they can’t keep your current plan but give you a $45 for 10 gig plan, you’re effectively paying $5 more for 24 months for your phone.

Can I use my existing Fido plan to upgrade while still getting the bonus credits?
I don’t want to lose my $45 for 20gb plan lol

Only if that plan is on the list of plans that work with the promo, and typically its new plans only (doesn't mean they are not good plans) just not as good as the one you currently have... But it also doesn't hurt to ask.

Definitely not disagreeing, but I was surprised at how little inventory there was on older models and the iPhone 13 was back ordered well into the year. I suspect due to the chip shortage, they won’t be blowing out older models like they have in previous times. I could be wrong, but that was my fear.

question about trading in, my mom has a samsung S8 plus and its got some screen burn in (can see the keyboard always lol) do they care? Also, more importantly.. do they allow us to "trade" the phone in, get the new phone, bring it home, transfer all of our stuff and then bring the old phone back in to complete the trade? She doesn't want to leave the house and also doesn't trust them with data on her phone, rather transfer it all at home then complete the trade. Is this possible? Or will I have to trade in and transfer right there and then at the kiosk? Want to spend as little time as possible at these places and I know last time it took an hour to transfer everything from her Note 4 to this S8 Plus

** Was just told that I have to do the transfer right there and then... also there is no $200 bonus trade in, they said that is only for business lines (is this a lie?)

also S8 Plus value $77 x 2 = $154 trade value and a samsung S10e is $108 x 2 = $216 so kinda meh deal, only thing that makes it kind of worth it is the $200 extra but that's only for business... as the dude said.

Think I will end up going with Virginmobile anyways with byod deal $45 for 10 Gb - $5 deal so $40. He told me the extra $10 discount doesn't exist. Not sure if this is lies, they don't know, or its different in every city. This was North of Toronto.

*** Edit again: I realized now that the $200 extra credit is just for the iphone 12 128 GB the OP spoke of, each phone has a different store credit extra, so my s8 Plus traded towards an S21 would give me $77 x 2 = $154 plus another $100, so $254 towards it.
