Bit the bullet and applied using the link in OP as I wasn't targeted.
Called in and CSR confirmed that the promotion has been applied to my account.
It's my first ever account with TD.

- No monthly fee if you have $5,000 at the end of each day
- No TD Fee at any ATM worldwide
- Unlimited transactions like withdrawals and debit card purchases
- Free to send money using Interac e-Transfer®
- No Annual Fee for the first year for your choice of one of five select TD Credit Cards
- With TD Fraud Alerts, suspicious transactions on your TD Access Card can be blocked and unblocked in real time
- Free small Safety Deposit Box, personalized cheques, certified cheques and money orders

The following individuals are not eligible for the $500 cash offer:
1) Already have a TD chequing account or Youth Account or had either one of these accounts that was closed on or after March 10, 2018; or
2) Received any chequing account offer from TD in 2016, 2017, 2018; or

T&C says you must have received an email or mail to qualify. So unless you have it sent from TD, they could theoretically deny you.

Also no promos given in 2016-2018 to be eligible, although I got my bonus last year, even though I was not eligible because of previous promos.

Roll the dice again? lol

Didn't get any email unfortunately...

I assume the account has to stay opened for a year?

It's weird, cuz they're running a Facebook Ad campaign with it, so I can't imagine how they would screen / target / check your "email eligibility".
They're in for a world of butt hurt if they deny all the people that followed the link from FB.

I've seen this show up before for the GVR area but not for everywhere!

For those that have done a quick in and out, what did you do? I've read old posts about the money being posted in about a month. Thinking open the account but don't take a credit card/extras, complete the transfer and 2 tasks, then after the money is posted scale the account down to a free one?

1. TD Premium CCs are always free if you have an All-In account. ("Annual fee rebated for your choice of one of five select TD Credit Cards") One supplementary card is also free. So why is this offer more restrictive?

2. I wonder if this offer can be combined with TD's current CC card offers, e.g. get a TD Aeroplan Infinite Visa (FYF, then free with All-In account) and get 30k AP miles bonus? If someone is going to switch to TD then they might as well get as many bonuses as possible.

The minimum balance is $5k. The foregone interest on $5k at 2% is $100. Moreover unlike ordinary interest it's tax-free. So if you have the $5k that would otherwise sit in a HISA the effective cost of this account is <$100 per year. For many [most?] people the benefits of the account, never mind the $500 signing bonus, exceed the cost.

Tempting! Just want to make sure I’ll receive the bonus as I didn’t get an email/mail invitation.
