[TD Bank] TD Rewards Costco 50$ Shop Card

Just got an email a short while ago that stated that for a limited time, you will get a 10$ bill credit with TD Visa Infinite if you buy a Costco Shop card worth a minimum of 50$

According to what I can see, the 50$ shop card is a normal 20k TD points, but decreased to 15k until 7/23

Believe this is a good deal, but since this is my first couple of posts, please don't shoot the messenger ;)

Seems like a good offer, but read the fine print. Does not apply to all TD Infinite cards.

-Stocktrack.ca and homedepot.ca do not show clearance pricing for HD even if the item is on clearance.

They offered this same promo last year so seems to be once a year. I have also seen them offer this for other retailers like Home Depot, but for me, Costco is a safe choice given more options and the fact they accept MasterCard and not Visa at Warehouse.

I picked up a couple Costco cards last year on this promo and just ordered a few today. Better use of points if there is no immediate plans for travel (and even then sometimes booking on Expedia4TD doesn't offer best deal).

Just one thing to watch out for.. they never credited me the $10 per $50 increment even after several months of chasing TD Rewards and TD Canada Trust (each rep saying it was not their department to provide credit). After multiple chasing one rep out of "goodwill" offered me the credit but make sure you keep track after 8 weeks from promotion period.

You always get points for purchasing a Costco card this route? Wow I've been missing out

Edit: There are a number of cards on sale, including gas cards.

Am I missing something, or are the reward cards awful compared to the regular cash back card? For food purchases it’s 2 points per dollar, for other purchases it’s 1 point per dollar. Compare that to 1% cash back on groceries, gas, and regular bills and 0.5% for the rest. The reward costs just seem so much steeper
