OP, wat is "Sercerd" or "Serced"? You mean "secured credit"?

I've seen mention on the forums of TD clients being pre-approved for uLOC (unsecured line of credit), but secured LOC is generally a HELOC (home equity), meaning there are substantial fees for opening/closing a HELOC since it's linked to property ownership, meaning approval would depend primarily on home equity.

"If you’re a recent immigrant to Canada with no credit history or if you’re trying to rebuild your credit rating after some financial difficulties, it’s not always easy to get approved for a credit card.

If that’s your situation, then a secured credit card could be the answer. A secured credit card can help you establish or rebuild your credit, and give you the freedom and convenience of access to credit when you need it.

What is a secured TD Canada Trust Credit Card?
A secured TD Canada Trust Credit Card is a credit card that is secured by funds you deposit with us. Your credit limit on your card is set by the amount you deposit to secure the card. We hold the money you deposit as security in many cases for up to three years depending on the type of card you have.

What are the benefits?
In addition to helping establish or re-establish your credit history, a secured credit card gives you the same freedom and convenience enjoyed by other credit card users. A secured credit card is also a great way to take care of –

Hotel reservations
Car rentals
Emergency purchases

What TD Canada Trust Credit Cards can I choose from?
You can secure any one of our wide range of TD Canada Trust Credit Cards. If you choose one of our Reward Cards, you will earn the same rewards as any other Cardholder while still being able to establish or rebuild your credit.

How do I qualify?

Even if you have no credit rating or if your credit history could be better, you should still consider a secured credit card. Because you deposit the funds to secure the card in advance, you are almost guaranteed to be approved. The amount you deposit must be at least as much as the minimum credit limit for the card you choose.

Ah, so you mean a "secured credit card". Looks like they do offer it (based on @HermanH 's post).

Why go with TD for a secured CC? Aren't most RFDers in need of secured CC flocking to CapitalOne?

Yep,Capital One has limits of $300-$7000 for a secured card....good way to build/rebuild credit history.

+1

Haven't studied secured CC's since I have no need for them, but that explains why RFDers would flock to Capital One for 'em.
