Yes, there was a popup message about it yesterday evening that I saw. Should be described in your Messages

Better than it was before. I think previously you had to call in to order GIC's. Not sure if they have all institutions, I know when I looked at it before they only had a handful whereas you could order a bunch more through Questrade.

It has been forever that they have been talking about this. Glad to see that they finally have this. Should cut down waiting on the phone to get through.

What’s the best 3 year rate? I have a 3 year GIC ladder at Peoples Trust, it’s 1.65% currently, the lowest since I started - but still better than even the best 5 year term at Questrade.. sigh And yeah, still have to call in at Questrade, but can buy online at People’s Trust (and they renew automatically there - what about TD?)

Best 5-year rates at TD today are 1.56 from Equitable Bank and 1.54 from Canadian Tire Bank. Best 3 year 1.26 from CWB and 1.24 from Equitable. TD always asks if you want to auto-renew or not... I always say don't auto-renew, but I'll have to remember to check that next year when renew a rung on my ladders.

Not the greatest rates but it's worth it for me to have all my investments at one place. IMO fixed income is for return of capital, not return on capital, and GICs give me guaranteed money available if the $h!t ever hits the fan big time. I have 2 GIC ladders and when I renew each year I always make sure each of the new GICs is from a different issuer.

In 1995 I had a short-term funding goal and was buying 30 day GICs at 6.25%. :(
When I was young, I was poor. Now, after years of hard work, I'm no longer young.
