Overbuilt in some areas. The i7 3rd generation CPU is a good solid processor for it's era, but at $470 you're better off with a faster cheaper sleeker solution. If pushed to back my claims, I may boot up another thread.

It's not terrible friend, but the retailer isn't backed by something akin to an eBay guarantee, and 3.9 / 5.0 isn't inspiring.

In summary, it's a little rich for my taste.
I aim to be inclusive and considerate of others in my posts. If I fall short of that mark, feel free to let me know in good faith, and where appropriate, I'll edit my posts. Thank you.

I'd be wary of spending almost $500 for a computer with a CPU and motherboard that are 7-8 years old. Hopefully the power supply isn't also that old!

Cpu is only 7 generations behind.

Good for people buying iphones 6 i guess.

with that amount of money, one can make a faster i3-10100 based computer.

btw, i3-10100 is faster than an i7-7700 which is much faster than this i7-3770.

i3-10100 = $160+$4.99+taxes shipped <--current price on newegg.ca Sept. 18, 2020

It's not a bad deal, but there are other choices. There are other refurbs on places like Amazon where you can probably find somewhat better deals, depending on use case and whatnot.

https://www.amazon.ca/HP-EliteDesk-800- ... B077RWCGZL
This unit is perhaps one or two years newer, same form factor, and the specs are somewhat more reasonable for nearly the same price. Sure it "only" has 16GB of RAM, but it also has 240GB SSD and 2TB HDD.

https://www.amazon.ca/Lenovo-ThinkCentr ... B082FMPKN8
This is also slightly newer and has a larger 480GB SSD with no HDD, and comes with wifi capability.

Occasionally Best Buy has those $500 i5 desktop PCs specials as well, as can be found in recent threads like this one. Recent generations of i5 processors are actually hexa core and compete favorably with the older quad core i7 processors from several years ago. Sometimes they come with SSDs, sometimes not, but adding one is usually trivial.

Pretty terrible price. Bauersystems usually has similar PC’s for like ~$200 with at least a 4th gen cpu

I'd rather buy a system with a newer CPU.
Older systems with manufacturer included solid state drives were never really built for performance, which is why I'd rather put in a newer drive.

How about this from Dell directly:

https://www.dellrefurbished.ca/desktop- ... 2010%2C359

i5-6500 or faster system with 8GB, 500GB HDD and Win 10 from $341.

Dell always has sales on. I think the best I've seen has been 50% off.
