0 upvote and 18 downvote. i came in to give a downvote to keep this going. lol.

i got to change my shaw to this thing called Lightspeed (only other third party cable in Kamloops), after the contract. not bad right now 84 a month for shaw 600. but that one is like 30-40 bucks a month.

Not a good deal.

They do not care existing customer. my experience.
Teksavvy is the only 3rd party reseller fighting against the incumbents. Maybe if the other 3rd parties pitched in we'd get better internet from everyone.

Currently paying $40/month for 300/20/unlimited from cannet.

Granted, if I have any kind of technical or customer service issue whatsoever my best bet is smoke signals and prayer, but I can manage most things on my own.

Teksavvy is still the best indie ISP in Canada.

I have been with them for a long time. I stay with them, even though I can get less elsewhere because the service is good, hardly down (aside scheduled upgrades and repairs which they keep me informed), call center and office in Canada (still in Chatham ON I believe?), but as mentioned, they are the most vocal incumbent fighting for the peoples net neutrality I feel.

I’m with Carrytel and am very satisfied with their service.
This one is a bit deceiving. If you go through with the checkout it says only the first month is $34.99 then $54.99 thereafter.

I was considering switching from DSL to cable, i'll call them but until then does anybody know if the activation includes installing a cable drop to the home?

Is cable 5 really a hard 5Mbps or really like just above? Can't get more than DSL6 in my area, but so far much more stable and reliable than cable in my area

What?

the 75M plan also says "$24.99 for the first month then $44.99 per month (recurring charge, every 30 days)" …

Very tricky wording, so it's only the first month at the introductory price and then $45, but it makes it sound like $25 for every 30 days. Not cool.

Carrytel has increased their prices for 75u/150u to $44.99/$54.99. I thought it used to be $34.99, then $39.99, now $44.99 for 75u.

The difference is, not everyone wants to be limited by using Fido's flawed puma 6 chipset modem. I will only use providers that allow my own modem.
