Teksavvy TV

I’ve been thinking about cutting the cord since all I watch are sports, and I see Teksavvy TV has Sportsnet and TSN as part of their sports bundle for $20 a month. I’ll have to buy some streaming devices but I’m thinking $20/month covers 90% of my tv watching needs. Has anyone tried Teksavvy TV? I just got the email about it today so not sure if it’s just been launched or if it has been has been around longer. Any feedback would be appreciated!

If it is $20 total with the sports addon this is a good deal.

$40 a month. The basic package (as per CRTC regulations for must-carry channels and their BDU license) is required so it's $20+$20.

From some of the other threads on the it, a lot of the features are coming soon: 60 fps+, PVR, etc but it looks promising and being app based with no mandatory boxes is a nice feature. It was launched in Chatham a few months ago, then Ottawa and recently the GTA so it hasn't been around too long.

Now that's a good offer! But sucks that there's no CP24. With $40 a month and having sports channels, I think lots of people will jump on this!

OK I see that they force everyone to take the Basic package for $20 and then I can add the sports package for another $20. I was hoping I could just pay $20 for the sports package since I don't want any of the channels in the Basic package, but even at $40, that's still about half the price of Rogers. I wonder if Rogers will have a competitive response?

TSN also has a "day pass" you can buy-$4.99 for 24 hours of access. Good if you rarely would use it but have the occasional event you want to watch.

For me, the Basic package is the deal breaker.
I get all those channels with my OTA, which I almost never watch (exception was Leaf playoff games on CBC).
Raptors playoff games are divided on SN and TSN, so would need to subscribe to both.

I used to watch lots of sports, but haven't for the last decade and a half.
If it were possible to subscribe for what I want, when I want (at a reasonable price), I would go for it.
As this is not possible, I'll stick with free nbastreams on reddit.

I'd seriously consider paying for the Superfan package (despite knowing I would seldom use it) if I was not forced to purchase a bunch of channels I am completely certain I would never use.

Rogers has been doing this for years. They don’t force anyone. It is just technical/business model. People can signup individually each sport channel directly, if you don’t basic package, $20 a pop.

Do you need a 4K Firesticks for each tv (ie: one for each tv) or will one cover multiple tv's?

I ask because amaz dot ca has the firestick on for 34.99 (at least for today), basically half price.
