Telus $70 15GB vs $75 10GB Unlimited

I currently am on the Telus $70 15GB plan. Contemplating to switching to their $75 10GB peace of mind plan so I can get the Samsung S10+ for $785 on a 2 year contract with EPP pricing.

What's everyone's thoughts?

And how does Easy Roam work with the peace of mind plan? What happens if I go over 10GB while on Easy Roam in the US?

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t the $75 10 gigabyte unlimited plan mean that you drop to 3G speeds if you go over 10? For me that would be the killer is 3G speeds are far too slow for me. I’d rather keep the $70 plan and just pay the cost of the phone. $785 seems like a lot if you’re being subsidized.
If it’s not at least 50% off is it really a deal?

It's way slower than 3g, more like 2g

I agree with you. If you're being put on a 3G speed. It's a bad deal. Besides, 785$ does seem a lot.

Yes but... there is always a choice to get more data. If you were capped... You would be paying more on the overages, where if you were unlimited you wouldn't and you choose if you want more data (add-ons is more cheaper than per per use rates for data). Throttling to me is a bonus and a way to stop getting charged for overages.

On the 10GB peace of mind plan, what happens when I'm on Easy Roam while travelling outside Canada...is my data capped at 10GB meaning that usage over 10GB will incur data charges?
