[Telus] Internet $75/300mbps or $60/150mbps + PIK 5 TV (no free tv box) + $250 credits (2 years) HOT (EXPIRES MAR 11th)

Shaw Thread = http://forums.redflagdeals.com/shaw-45- ... t-2263885/

Check if you can get 300mbs pure fibrehttps://www.telus.com/en/deals/content/internet-300

I asked my Telus guy to see what they have to compete with Shaw.

He said I cannot get this deal instore or online because it is only for outbound sales reps
( event promoters or kiosk promoters or door to door )

DO NOT mention anything on RFD because he said only for my friends or else he will get in trouble.

The best deal he can give me is :

EDIT: INTERNET 300 IS $75 NOT $60. I forgot changing the price after copy and paste. Sorry for the misinformation guys. my bad

$75
Internet 300 (PureFibre)
  • 300mbps download and 300mbps upload speed
  • FREE installation and Advanced Wi-Fi Modem rental4
  • Unlimited monthly data allowance
Bonus
  • 2 years pricing
  • $250 Credits
  • Basic TV + Pik 5 Channels Free for 24 months (no free pik tv box. you can use their app on your phone
==========================

$60
Internet 150(Fibre)

  • FREE installation and Advanced Wi-Fi Modem rental4
  • Unlimited monthly data allowance
Bonus
  • 2 years pricing
  • $250 Credits

I checked online and was offered 6 months promo pricing $55 then $95 after with $100 credits.

Mine is not pure fibre so I can only get internet 150.

Note:

If you have Purefibre in your area, I suggest you to get Telus instead of Shaw.
Telus internet = You are not sharing the internet with your neighbours.
Shaw internet = You are sharing the internet with your neighbours.

Only for new customer as usual. If you cannot get Shaw promo, you can try to get this one instead.
I used to refer lots of students to him when I was working at Kwantlen University.

I think this is the best deal that you can get with Telus. Better than the previous student promo.

How do I get this if I can't get it online or by calling? I'm already a Telus customer and my building has Telus Gigabit for $95/mo for 6 months and $150/month after.

Call and speak to retentions. I’m on Telus and got a bit higher price for it: 150/150 for $60 on 24 months which is anyway better than $110 I’ve paid for 300/300 beforehand. I can’t tell the difference between 300 and 150 as of casual user, it is more than enough.

That's a pretty good deal if Telus actually put fibre into the ground instead of just advertising that they do.

The Shaw deal has a much lower upload speed but it also costs $15 less per month, which is a big savings worthwhile to most people unless you upload lots of video.

For the TV channels, I prefer Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, both of which I have. The Amazon Prime Video is included with my Prime membership which I would get anyways. Netflix I done Stack promo credit for. And then there is YouTube that has a lot of content regular TV doesn't and is free. Plus, I have a FireTv stick that people says I can install some channels to.

So I guess it depends if you really need 300 Mbps upload vs 15 Mbps upload for $15 more.

There is an actual fibre coming to my house in the middle of nowhere on a coast here (small town).

I think it is more about sharing/not sharing the line. If you’re in dense area - Telus is way better. In my case Shaw is fine, but I still prefer lower pings and faster uploads.

Yeah, I've found virtually no difference in web surfing speed, YouTube, or Netflix loading speeds going from a 30 Mbps connection to a 300 Mbps plan. The bottle neck for most daily use is waiting for a server somewhere to process your request and not the connection.

The only difference where it makes a difference is if you download huge games or files on the gigabyte range.

I would happily downgrade to 100 Mbps down, 15 Mbps up for $25 a month if that plan exists anywhere.

Does this come with the Pik TV box or would that be extra? Seems like there is also a Pik TV app for Apple TV but not Fire Stick :(

If I don't have fibre yet can I still get this deal and just get the highest speed possible?

OP - how do we get in touch with your contact. Current Shaw customer and Shaw retention not doing anything at all. Ready to move over to Telus. Will require a larger TV package for sure.
