Here is a picture RFD Family. This one is set to B.C. I assume this may be nation-wide deal.

Bright side of RFD: 4 X Koodo $40/8GB plan
Dark side of RFD: Tons of stuff that I don't need but still got them because of RFD

The speed is not even full 3G. It's crippled to less than UMTS. However, connectivity is LTE, so latency is good. Overall, this is a plan that would be great last decade.

Price remains a driving factor for many and believe it or not, there are people that only use data for email and other simple tasks which do not require high speeds.

The current PM Koodo fiasco aside, that deal was for an exclusive group of people and is not available to public any longer.

This deal might work for some, but as usual, cross shop competitors for your needs.

Many spend more just cause its a good deal, even though they don't need it.

It's amazing seeing the crazy change in direction since they changed up the leadership at PM. From 4GB full LTE data at $40/mo not even a year ago as their "big promo plan", down to 1GB capped LTE data for $30.

I mean, for what it's worth this is still pretty reasonable if it's all you need - compare to Chatr @ $40/mo for 1GB of 3G data, and that's zoned data. It's just compared to what PM *used* to offer a very short time ago, it's crazy that this is the direction they're heading.

...or when Koodo/Telus moves to 5G, they just stay on 4G.

People who have a problem with this should be more helpful and recommend a better deal at the same price point.

For $6 more every month, sign up with Zoomer. Get 3 GB LTE Data, 400 Canada Wide Minutes with Unlimited Evenings/Weekends, unlimited text, voicemail, good customer service, and best of all, not a company (Telus) that tried to screw over current PM customers. Plus, get a free phone with that plan and sell it for $100-$150.

Bam. There you go. Not unlimited minutes, but nowadays I would much rather data.
Please do not PM me with requests for assistance, unless I PM you first, or if I give you permission to. That's what the forums are for!

Not expired. Was it moved because people don't like the slower speed? That seems kind of petty.
I would switch my 4 lines over from Virgin today if it was Canada-wide calling. Save $40 +tax a month per line, and 3G is more than fast enough for my needs (web browsing, checking FB or Email when I'm out)

I appreciate your reply but my question mentioned same price point. For someone that doesn't use more than what the $30 plan offers, paying $6 more per month ($72 more per year plus tax) isn't better.

Honestly this respOnse works fine for basically every other topic. When it comes to phone plans, it doesn’t. Open your eyes, use the search function. Don’t post crap and then expect it to be corrected for you because you didn’t search. Every page is flooded with telecommunications deals.

OP has to take the L and move on.

Nope, works just fine for this topic too. If somebody says "this is a garbage deal, there's loads of better deals at this price point" it's on them to prove it - at the $30 and lower price point I'm not aware of any better deals going on right now.
