Not sure if this was posted earlier or not.

But telus is offering unlimited data at $30.

After 5GB, it is capped at 512kbps speed.

It could represent data used on a non-tablet. For.instance, you insert your Sim into a smartphone and you get billed based on the overage rate. I noticed there is a price in the T&C for voice minutes.

This is a very interesting product. I have a request in for telus to call me back

Edit. I just was in a Telus store. For BYOD it is month to month no contract.

No calling. No texts, just data.

so no data overages on tethered data? although since its 512 kilobits, 64KB/s isnt going to make a dent in anything.

You will need to have a business account opened with telus to get this deal.

Consumer accounts will not get this deal unless it is stated in the consumer section.

When I was in the store this morning the guy was already to sign me up right there. No mention about business. My wife does have a small business but I got the feeling he was ready to go without any qualifiers.

I am currently testing out the Rogers Infinite plan - going very well so far. I just found out I can add a tablet option to this plan for $10/month ( plus $35 activation). The tablet and my phone would share the 10GB and then both would drop to 512kbps unlimited. This is BYOD so I can cancel anytime.

I don't know if Telus does something similar.

I didn't ask about a Tablet only infinite plan at Rogers

Nice to know that greed is the number 1 qualifier and it trumps other conditions.

In the text it says:
"Tablet plans with endless data1 start at $30 a month on a 2 year term."

In the fine print under 1. it says:
"Data overage in Canada will be charged at $10/100MB, after 700MB it will be 15¢/MB. Tethering included."

Very confusing as to what is or isn't actually being offered here. The way I'm reading it "endless data" merely means they won't shut it off but will just throttle it back, and bill you for the pleasure.

Just called them. They only offered me this deal if you take it with a tablet.

Hmmm, I'm really interested in that one. Honestly 512kbps is fast enough for realistically anything BUT streaming videos, but I don't do that. 30$ is cheaper than my 8gb a month line for 50$ on fido, which uses rogers network primarily and sucks in quebec.

Even with the shittiest alcatel tablet, it would be 37$ a month with voip on top, maybe top 40$. I wonder if you can still tether when in over the data cap. Anyone knows that?
